SB Guitar Collective is excited to announce we will be doing a street performance this Thursday, February 4th, 12:00-3:00 PM near the corner of State and Carrillo Streets, on behalf of the Santa Barbara Downtown Organization. We will bring even more auditory excitement to the already bustling, and one of the most credible cultural film arts festivals on the West Coast, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF), happening February 3-13 in many downtown Santa Barbara locations. Perhaps Johnny Depp or Elizabeth Banks will sit in with us? Love & Mercy was a very inspiring flick... Although we don't specialize in vocals, we plan to achieve a level of guitar genius much like Brian Wilson. Keep your eyes and ears open! For more info about the film festival, visit www.sbiff.org. Feed the Funk Performance of Outkast's Hey Ya! at Soho Music Club
It has been really great co-producing and organizing the Feed the Funk Benefit Concert for our 3rd Annual event this year. It is event more fun when I get to get up and get funky with The New Vibe... Easily Santa Barbara's funkiest live funk band. Their enthusiasm and high energy really gets the crowd going.
Thanks to my beautiful and dedicated wife, Kelsey, for coming out after photographing a wedding all day and capturing this iPhone video of me playing with the band. Also, thanks to Soho Music Club for hosting, and for their incredible ongoing support to many local Santa Barbara non-profits. It is a favorite music venue of many local Santa Barbarians, and it continues to improve. Also, a big shout out to Felici Events, for assisting as our contracted event service. The always go the extra mile! Spark Creative Events was also a notable co-sponsor.
It was only appropriate to take after Andre 3000 and add the acoustic touch to this timeless Outkast hip-pop cover song. It is a luxury to have the option of playing an acoustic electric Larrivée Guitar for this occasion. Later in the video the song motif clearly translated with the acoustic melodic theme.
Stay tuned for more news about the 4th Annual Feed the Funk Concert!
